UCAT Programme Out!
At MyUCAT, our annual strategic application guides provide medical and dental applicants with all the information they need to make well-informed choices. These guides are designed to be accessible, accurate, and comprehensive, giving students the tools to independently approach their applications with confidence.
Over the years, I have seen people describe me as the UK’s leading expert on forming strategic applications to medical school. Admittedly, this is a very niche field. It is not due to any unique quality I possess, but rather the many years I have devoted to researching the admissions process in detail. One day, I may move on to other projects beyond university applications - but for now, I would agree that the description is fair. Reading our guides, or simply asking me a question, will usually make this clear.
Each year, many parents - often healthcare professionals themselves - ask me to personally evaluate the most sensible application choices for their children. This is understandable: ensuring that students receive plenty of interview offers is crucial to maximising their chances of ultimately securing a place.
You can see an example shared below from 2023. Unfortunately, this request was one amongst many, and I did not come across it until it was much too late. I do hope that everything worked out well for this family, and any others that were missed.
Over recent years, I have offered a consultation service at various price points. Demand has always exceeded capacity, stretching across all hours of the day and night - I have even run consultations well past midnight to meet the needs of families across the world.

The stakes are high, and inaccurate advice can have serious consequences. I have encountered students who were advised against applying to certain universities based on misunderstandings of the admissions process.
This student was discouraged from applying to Aston medical school in a high-cost "choosing 4 Medical/Dental Schools" package.
After I briefly clarified the situation via WhatsApp (without charge), the student applied. They successfully attended an interview on 17/12/2024.
With the support of specialist MyUCAT interview tutor Aliza, they are now commencing their first year of Aston medical school.
Another student was incorrectly advised, in a consultation costing several hundred pounds, not to apply to Manchester - their dream medical school. Instead, they were encouraged to apply to Buckingham as one of their 4 medical school choices.
This is unnecessary, given that the private medical school Buckingham accepts direct applications outside UCAS (and could be applied to as a 5th medical school choice).
The student had a brief chat with one of our expert tutors, who used my guide to advise the family to apply to Manchester medical school. With support from specialist MyUCAT interview tutors Zainab and Demi, this student is now commencing their first year at Manchester medical school.
The potential for earning is vast. However, I am naturally frugal, and have no intention of profiteering.
Nevertheless, pricing below the market average may create a false impression that other sources of guidance are of greater value. More importantly, I cannot meet demand if I continue to underprice consultations.
Accordingly, pricing for 1-hour consultations in 2025 will be as follows:
£350 Charitable Donation
Includes unlimited follow-up queries before UCAS submission.
The price reflects the depth of experience, research, and care that goes into every consultation.
I will not be retaining any proceeds.
100% of funds will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians, supporting essential humanitarian relief in Gaza, the West Bank, and refugee camps in Lebanon.
I am fascinated by the concept of effective altruism - do let me know if you have alternative recommendations on highly effective/beneficial charitable organisations.
For families unable to access this, I strongly recommend using our strategic application guide and attending the scheduled MyUCAT Q&As, which remain freely accessible resources containing all the information you may need.
I hope this approach strikes a balance between fairness, accessibility, and sustainability, while also serving a greater humanitarian cause. Effective altruism reminds us that applicants to UK medical schools are often already among the most fortunate in the world, and this model allows their journey to directly benefit those in far greater need. Above all, my aim remains unchanged: to give students the strongest possible chance of success in their medical or dental applications.
